I’m using the Start9 Nextcloud package and need SMB/CIFS external storage support. Nextcloud’s SMB backend requires `smbclient` or `php-smbclient`/`libsmbclient-php` to be present on the server, but the current Start9 package does not appear to include it, so the SMB option is missing in External Storage. Could this package be updated to ship with SMB client support, or could a maintainer confirm the recommended way to enable it in StartOS?

**No arbitrary host directory mounts.** You can surface another StartOS service’s files with the **External Storage** action (currently File Browser), and you can attach remote storage (S3, WebDAV, SMB, etc.) through Nextcloud’s built-in External Storage app. StartOS does not expose arbitrary host directories to the container.

What were you trying to accomplish with SMB? Expand your storage?

I have a NAS on my home network with some video files that I generally serve using SMB. Was hoping to use Jellyfin to serve the media. Noticed that it can connect to nextcloud. So, was thinking maybe if nextcloud could connect to my NAS via smb then I could use jellyfin. I get it with not exposing arbitrary host directories, though.
