# Bitcoin Knots ver #knotsprerdts:29.3:29 Crashing

Bitcoin Knots keeps on crashing and restarting constantly while syncing chain  
Running Start9 OS 0.4.0.1 server pure  
Gives this error repeately “bitcoind daemon crashed”  
Logs show:  
error LoadBlockIndexGuts: CheckProofOfWork failed: CBlockIndex(pprev=0x55fbc8f34428, nHeight=962633, merkle=7c8b8bbdde3095669fabc32b29bbd808b3639e282e0a593e25e8c1c0869c680c,  
Error loading block database.  
Error: bitcoind exited with code 1

How can I fix the problem?

Do you mean :28?

This is corruption. Before we blame it on hardware, you should try a reindex of the blockchain. I don’t have this flavor of Bitcoin on a machine to look at, but you should be able to find that under "Actions & Config.

This procedure will take a long time.
