Cant update to StartOS 0.4.0.1

Just wanted to share a fix in case anyone else runs into this.

After that command the update download finally started but failed at arround 20% point.
The error I was getting was:

StartOS Update Failed
Update was not successful because of Filesystem I/O Error: error decoding response body: error reading a body from connection: error:0A000119:SSL routines:tls_get_more_records:decryption failed or bad record mac:ssl/record/methods/tls_common.c:874:, error:0A000139:SSL routines::record layer failure:ssl/record/rec_layer_s3.c:703::

I simply disconnected the VPN and the update went through immediately without any issues.

Hope this saves someone the headache!

Hi

I succesfully updated and see this error message as well. Do I really need to flash update again as I am now running 0.4.0 and spent a lot o time already setting everything up? Will a “regular” update be available at a later stage? I am afraid of breaking sth. Thanks

Well, I do not feel like a ‘straggler.’ I just do not normally update to alpha, beta, or release candidate versions of software. I hope that all the problems have been caught and fixed in the pre-production versions. However, I was wrong about that on multiple accounts in this case.

Hi again, my question still unanswered: I upgraded to 0.4.0 and van not upgrade to 0.4.0.1.

Will this be fixed? i do not want to flash my Start9 as it is running fine and I am afraid of breaking sth.

I’d also like to know if this will be fixed in a future update.

And what are we missing on by not upgrading to 0.4.0.1? There’s no change log in the upgrade popup, which would be nice to have. Or a link to it.

Please create new posts if you have separate issues updating StartOS, we’d need to hear about the specific details of your case and the error(s) you’re seeing.

The biggest loss in not updating StartOS to the latest versions is that you’ll miss out of service updates that only work on the updated versions of StartOS. Every service has received at least one update since v040, and if you’re on v040 and not v0401, then you won’t see these.
