Fan pulsing on Server One

OK, I have a problem with the Server One fan pulsing on and off, and it is driving everyone crazy. I have now done some extensive trouble shooting with the help of people on this forum and an AI.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U with Radeon Graphics
AMD firmware version: 0.11.0.79
StartOS version: 0.3.5.1

Symptoms:

The internal fan repeatedly turns on for approximately 1–2 seconds, then turns off again. This repeats anywhere from a few times per minute to every few minutes and creates a significant noise problem.
The behavior appears closely tied to a temperature threshold of approximately 41 °C:
CPU load is low, usually well under 2–3%.
The fan pulses at or near 41 °C.
The fan promptly turns off again.
The system then warms back to approximately 41 °C and repeats the cycle.
This does not appear to be caused by sustained CPU load, blockchain sync, or a single service consuming CPU.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Here are some troubleshooting steps I have taken by adding a keyboard and monitor to the Server One:

First was to turn off Performance Boost and check if problem solved. It was NOT.

Core Performance Boost: Disabled, under Advanced → AMD CBS → CPU Common Options → Core Performance Boost

Next was to attempt manual Fan Control settings to see if problem solved. It was NOT.

Boot the Server One and press F2.
At the StartOS boot menu, select UEFI Firmware Settings.
In the firmware setup utility, select the Advanced tab.
Select AMD CBS.
Select NBIO Common Options.
Select SMU Common Options.
Select Fan Control.
Change settings to the following and then F4 to Save and Quit:

Fan Control Manual
Low Temperature 0
Medium Temperature 55
High Temperature 70
Critical Temperature 85
Low PWM 30
Medium PWM 50
High PWM 75
Temperature Hysteresis 3
PWM Frequency 25 kHz — leave unchanged
Fan Polarity Negative — leave unchanged

So here are the questions (recommended to ask by AI):

Does the AMD CBS → NBIO Common Options → Fan Control table control the Server One’s internal CPU fan on Ryzen 7 5825U hardware with AMD firmware 0.11.0.79?

If not, is there a supported firmware update, a different fan-control menu, or an embedded-controller fan-profile setting that changes the ~41 °C zero-RPM threshold?

Any other suggestions to stop this pulsing well below any temperature requirement or high CPU usage?

The fan on your server will start blowing harder when it needs to cool down.

It is a good idea to turn of the Core Performance Boost as you already did.

Also, on StartOS 0351 if you are running the Mempool service, this is a very resource intensive service and can cause what you are experiencing.

It is recommended to only run it when you need to check a transaction and then turn it off.

But, if you update from StartOS 0351 to 0401, this has been fixed in the latest update and should no longer be an issue.
