I’ve had an issue for some time where music will stop with a “media not supported in this format” or similar. I went through my entire library and deleted anything that looked odd but still got the error.

Then, when I upgraded my StartOS, I reloaded my library one album at a time making sure that they all had a standard file type but I’m still getting the error.

The main issue with trouble shooting is that there is no way of knowing what song is causing the error. I just get the error with nothing showing what’s trying to play.

Is there any way to resolve this?

The logs should specifically outline which files its complaining about.

Well, I was excited for it to be that easy but the logs just show “User \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* started playback of…” and then “User \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* stopped playback of…” which is the last entry and is exactly like all other entries when it’s working fine.

This is the error, btw. And just hitting play again starts it back up just fine.

Ok, I may have found something.

I happened to be looking right at the screen when it happened and so I knew the last song that had played fine. Having that to go on, I was able to go to the logs and see that even though the last song listed showed no error specifically, it also wasn’t the last song that played.

When I checked that song, the only thing that I could see was that it is a FLAC format. I know FLAC works so it must have been something with that file itself.
