Thanks for posting the solution.

As highlighted by [this post](https://community.start9.com/t/start9-https-does-not-work-with-librewolf-and-linuxmint-os/674/10) as well, Mint ships some applications as flatpaks which can sandbox too zealously.

Install the package maintainer’s version via a custom repo when possible (eg for Brave and Librewolf).
