New install, downloaded proper ISO, flashed, and inserted in older Dell Latitude E6410.
Used usb (after flash) in the Dell, booted to usb, and it installed, seemed proper.
Rebooted, no usb. and it gets to the password and start fresh/recover screen
Used 2nd system using the http://start.local where it took me to the screen that was showing on the Dell. There was a (siocsifflags) error box I cleared off.
So using the 2nd machine I got past the password and hard drive page/questions and it has been sitting on the “Initializing StartOS Setting up your server” page for a while.
I have found nowhere about how long this should be sitting on this page. I assume not long but it has been a while. Not sure where I am doing wrong if anything/ suggestions would be appreciated. TY
It would seem there’s an issue with your DIY hardware. What that is I’m not sure. StartOS works on most devices, but its only tested on and perfected on the devices we sell. When coming across some kind of incompatibility, DIY users have to experiment, muddle through or ask the community for help (as they may have gone through the same).
I’d suggest going through the whole process on the Dell laptop, including the setup, as this might give you a better idea of what’s going wrong. The error you clicked through might also provide more details.
You should also check you’re using the non-free ISO.
Hello it’s an honour to join the sovereign nation of S9!! would I have to change the internal nvme to 1tb or can I integrate an external as secondary drive? To add my full node?
