After full power off, Start9 OS wont boot, not shown on HDD in BIOS

I have my mini PC setup as an XMR node. Every single time I power it off to move it to my network rack, it refused to boot. Right now, it has an HDMI cable plugged into the back of my display so I can see what is doing.

The only work around I know is to reinstall Start9 OS to fix the boot issue. I need a display to do this so what can be done to allow my mini PC to power off without breaking the Start9 OS?

You should be able to log in with a device on the same network. Initially at start.local then after it is setup you connect via unique adjective-noun.local or your unique Tor address. Did you work through the docs?

Yes. After the error happened last time I did a fresh install. I am waiting on Start9 OS to download and for my USB thumb drive to due a full erase since I having issues loading Start9 OS.

Something is wrong with your server, not elated to StartOS. I’d start by checking your BIOS/EFI settings. Something may be wonky about your boot options. We need more info about what’s actually happening here, to troubleshoot further.

BTW as Rick was alluding to, you don’t need a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to install StartOS. If your server is set to boot from USB as the first boot option, you can simply plug in the USB drive that contains StartOS, and power on the machine. You’ll be able to access start.local with a browser, from any machine on the same lan, to do your install and initial setup.

For now I give up, why? Early this morning I saw the following error. Half asleep I thought that the SSD I am using is bad.

I already ordered a 990 pro from Amazon.

What is odd is that the same SSD was my old BTC node and it worked fine.

If you send me that log, be happy to take a look. There should be some good clues in there as to what’s going on.

It was the NVME SDD I was using. Once I took out that NVME SSD and put it in an external enclosure. My linux PC could recognize it but could not access it. I installed another NVME SDD and all is good now.

I decided to setup a KVM. The JetKVM I backed on Kickstart should ship in March.
