I have Start9 installed on a DIY rig. I have Bitcoin Core and electrs installed. I have Monero node currently installed and syncing. I have Electrum installed and connected to my Bitcoin node on a separate Windows PC. I plan on using Feather wallet for my Monero desktop GUI wallet. I also wanted to use my Monero node for CPU mining but it doesn’t appear to be possible without a marketplace wallet app.
My question is are we limited to only using wallets in StartOS that are available in the marketplace? Or is there a way to install Electrum and Feather and other external Linux apps onto StartOS and use them on our server?
You’re not strictly limited to the wallets available in the Start9 Marketplace, but you can’t install external Linux GUI apps (like Feather or Electrum) directly onto StartOS
However, you can run some wallets on you client ( PC in this case) and connect them to your Start9 node. For example; you can connect your Electrum to your electrs, or/and feather to your Monero.
Thanks. How would I make a request for certain apps to be on the marketplace? It only makes sense to have suitable wallets if we’re going to be running nodes. Not having a Monero wallet for StartOS also takes away the ability to CPU mine.
