Backing up StartOS using samba

I have StartOS on a beelink mini pc.

I have a 4tb NVMe in usb case that I wanted to back up my StartOS with. I did not verify that it is in EXT4…

So I began the process to back up my StartOS to my desktop which has 3.1TB available. I followed the instructions layed out in the link provided by StartOS/Start9.
I think there is an issue with the samba .conf file …it is saying that it "could not connect to “my ip address”. Unable to find suitable address.

Anyone have help or a copy of what the samba .conf file should look like?

I think im going to uninstall samba and start over. Was wondering if anyone had any tips, or has experienced the same issue?

I’m not really sure what is happening here, your description is too summarized, there’s no full error or background as to what you’ve done or why.

Which guide are you following that asks you to edit a .conf file? What OS is the backup target? I’m guessing linux? What are the exact errors you’re getting and at what stage of the guide do you get them?

That should get us started.

I figured it out.

Im a dumbass!

I messed up the .conf file in samba when backing it up
