Is there any preferred order for which service to upgrade first?
Should I expect any issues in retrieving my JAM wallet content (well spread across all JAM’s jars) after upgrading both JAM and Bitcoin?

If you intend to update all three. Just stop all Bitcoin related services, and update them without worrying about the order. After they’ve updated you can start them again. Give them all at least 10 minutes. If after that you find one not working, you may need to click config, for the service in question, then save without making any changes.
