I’m running an original Start9 Embassy connected directly to a fibre optic modem with decent speeds.
After flashing the new OS and setting the embassy up, I downloaded Bitcoin core.
Since then it has been slowly syncing but is only at 60% after a few weeks.
I tried to find the answer on other posts and it seems it could be because the size of the download has grown substantially since 2021.
Is Hardware my issue here or could it be something else?
You many explanations you’ve found here in the forum and probably elsewhere are correct. An older Start9 Embassy is an Raspberry Pi based device, which just isn’t really capable of running Bitcoin in 2025 due to the hugely expanded UTXO set after stamps, ordinals and monkey JPEGs on the blockchain.
I still have two pies and I use them for backups to vault warden and they run ghost really good, file browser, nostr relay etc. Honestly my pi is super reliable and I seem to have to restart less frequently than I do my pure
