Can mining pools be created on start9? How many miners can access the start9 device?

I am not exactly sure what you are looking for but in the community registry there is Datum and Bitcoin Knots. Here is a tutorial if you want to learn more

Thanks Rick! I’ve watched a lot of videos; I want to hook as many miners to my node as possible, and create mining pools for anyone that wants to use them.

I am bullish on Solo mining!

You also have the option of the Public Pool service to create your very own pool.

Ah; I didn’t know that; Does the start9 have a built in solo miner? How many miners can it run?

Start9 is the entity that maintains StartOS, which is a server OS designed to allow self-sovereign personal hosting of services. You install StartOS on compatible devices (the ones we sell are Mini PCs) and run the software you please.

The Mini PCs we sell are not mining devices, nor can you mine on them. You can run Bitcoin on them, and you can run mining pools on them. Any limits would probably depend on your ethernet switch at home and has nothing to do with the server or StartOS.

If you were to run Public Pool, for instance, I don’t think there’s a limit to how many miners can join the pool. But if there was, that would be something to take up with the developer of Public Pool.
