Cannot swap to Bitcoin Knots from Core on Start 9

I’ve followed all the tutorials, but cannot install

This is what I’m doing

  1. Click on System
  2. Click Manage 5 times
  3. Click on Marketplace, change to community and click on Bitcoin then Bitcoin Knots

This is where it gets different. It shows the green tab as ‘Update’, not ‘reinstall’ like the tutorials show.

I then click update anyway. I then go to services and see Bitcoin Knots updating, but once it hits 100% it reverts to the Bitcoin Core logo and says stopped???

Does anybody know what I’m doing wrong,

Just guessing, but maybe there was an upgrade available for Core, so the Upgrade button appeared instead of the Reinstall button. What version does it show installed?

The icons get cached by the browser, so if it was successful in installing Knots, then emptying the cache and hard reloading the page will reload the icon. In Chrome, that can be done by enabling Developer Tools (Menu > More Tools > Developer Tools) and while the developer tools are opened, right-click on the normal browser Refresh button, and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”.

If that doesn’t work, then see if you have an option to upgrade Core in the Start9 registry first, and then switch to Knots afterwards (and then empty the cache to reload the icon).

Brilliant thanks. Yep I upgraded the Core first and then the reinstall button appeared on Knots.

You can’t upgrade between flavors. If you are on version X of Knots, you have to be on version X of Core, not X-1. When you are in the same version, you can install the other flavor.
