Hi. Whenever I try and open the UI on most of the services, I get the ‘Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site’ error message. I believe I have allowed Firefox access through the firewall, so I don’t know what else to try. I have had the Start9 for 6 weeks, it is working fine for my BTC node, so the apps are running, but I can’t access anything with a UI at this stage. The specific services I am attempting to use are Mempool, Robosats and Vaultwarden and they’re all giving me the same error.
Thanks!
Hi, are you having trouble connecting via .onion or .local address and what browser are you using?
You have said that your apps which are connected to Services on your Server are working fine, so this leads me to believe that you’re experiencing caching issues and a hard refresh of your browser should solve it:
Linux/Windows: ctrl+shift+R
macOS Firefox: cmd+shift+R
macOS Safari: cmd+option+E, then cmd+R
If that doesn’t solve it then you can run through the rest of the steps in this Common Issues section and these Regarding Tor seeing as you shared a screenshot with a .onion address in it.
Thanks OKIN,
The hard refresh (ctrl+shift+R) worked for me!!
After i shutdown my pure one server and restarted it, i could net reach the UI. I got a white screen at https://adjective-noun.local. Without the s of https i could reach
http://adjective-noun.local, but then you get the screen of “trust your root CA”.
Although i could not reach the server i knew it was working as i could ssh into it. Also the services like mempool and nextcloud were working.
anyways… I am happy i found this solution.
Thanks for that. I had another person tell me to try installing Bonjour, and that appears to have worked. However, I have no idea what that is exactly.
Cheers
Bonjour allows Windows to know what to do with “.local” addresses. Microsoft never added that functionality.
