Can't connect to my server

Hello, i am having a problem opening my start9 login page. I have restarted my start9 server. I have deleted the firefox browser to see if this would reset it. I checked if my vpn was blocking it… basically i updated my mac and overnight my bookmark link to open my start9 login page is not working. I tried to open start.local…same thing, doesnt open.
This is what is says everytime:

We can’t connect to the server at **************

Check your network connection
Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)

Usually the problem you are running into is caused by a browser caching issue. This can be fixed by hard refreshing your browser page once you get the error at login.

Cmd+Shift+R (On MacOS)

You also mentioned a VPN, some of them cause issues when trying to access devices on your local network. Try to find an option to allow local network sharing or something similar.

i have verified that my vpn is in fact allowing me to share local and i have reset my firefox browser…still an error popping up…

Did you try to hard refresh your browser as Alvaro mentioned above?

Also, did you check all the steps from the troubleshooting guide? Im quite sure the answer is there.

Even though your VPN says that it “allows local sharing” they not always do, make sure to try turning off the VPN just to make sure.

I am having the same problem let me know if you find a solution.

I dont use a vpn and am having the same issue I cleared browser caching as well.

It sounds like your macOS update added a new security setting that’s blocking Firefox from accessing your local network. To fix this:

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac.
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to Local Network.
  4. Find Firefox in the list and toggle it on so it has permission to access the network.

Once that’s done, try accessing your Start9 login page again at start.local.
