Can't create SSH key in macOS

I know what your thinking, its true! New user here and I am looking right at documentation but cannot get SSH key to work in Star 9 to start SSH in Mac OSX. Opened terminal, followed directions but it continues to say the same thing after I hit enter. It does NOT say… “Your public key has been saved in”… As the directions state… Not once, and I have shut down terminal 5 times now. Any help would be very much appreciated. And yes

After

ssh-keygen -t ed25519

You’ll be asked for a location, then a passphrase. After you enter those, it’ll say…

Your public key has been saved in /home/user/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub

If it does not, you’d have to tell me what it does say for me to be able to help.

I’d also do…

ls /home/**babyyaga**/.ssh/

to see what is there.

Stuart,

Yes sir, it says Your public key has been saved in /Users/christopheroliver/.ssh/id_ed25519

Then says your fingerprint is: Then gives long numbers etc under that I thought were key?

Which is the key I assume…?

I then enter .ssh/id_ed25519.pub in Terminal on my Mac, also making sure VPN is off!

Then I go into Star 9 SSH and enter what I think is the key… Nothing but error codes like the ones here below!

I feel like I am following directions but 3 hours of back and fourth and 3 YouTube videos and my dumb ass cannot get proper key in SSH on Star 9 node.

Thank you your help,
Chris Oliver

Stuart,

I also wanted to attach a couple of different error codes that I am seeing so you had a clear understanding from what is going on over here on my side but I cannot attached the screenshots of the error codes???

This is what I am seeing after adding what I think is key into Star 9 SSH

RPC ERROR: Invalid Request invalid base64: Encoded text cannot have a 6-bit remainder.

I’ve relied to your email. Ultimately you’re pasting the fingerprint into StartOS rather than the key, which the guide does not tell you to do.
