Changed the RPC password of bitcoin service, but others wouldn't be informed?

I run CLN and even a restart wouldn’t make it aware of the new password. It still attempted to use the old one. In the config I couldn’t even define a password, so somehow it must get promoted into there, right?

Sure, I could manually do sudo nano /embassy-data/package-data/volumes/c-lightning/data/main/config.main and change it there, but that would be an ugly workaround that would get wiped away with the next service update.

Did I miss something? Or am I stuck with that password forever now?

Ride The Lightning was also not able to recover. And Electrs.

I run Bitcoin Knots, if that info is of relevance for this matter.

Hi tennis, can you check if there’s a corresponding error in Knots logs that shows Electrs failing to connect? If so, open config on Electrs and hit save may clear it.

Yes, editing the package data manually like that is not recommended. If what I suggested doesn’t work, Electrs has a short sync time so you could consider simply reinstalling instead of troubleshooting.

Thanks a million. Opening the config, saving (without any changes) and then starting the service helped for all services!
