I’ve been having issues with my CLN after upgrading to 0.4.0. I have not been receiving transactions consistently. I have received some transactions but have had several fail. The log looks very messy. Can you please see the attached screenshots of my CLN logs and let me know what these issues mean? I’m just not familiar with what I’m seeing and how it works. If there is a better way to post the logs, please let me know.
The logs you provided don’t show an obvious CLN crash or a clear error that explains the failed payments. Since some payments are working and others are failing, I would start by checking the things that most commonly affect incoming Lightning payments:
Check your channel liquidity (most important)
Intermittent incoming payment failures are often caused by not having enough inbound liquidity
Check Bitcoin and CLN sync status
Check channel connectivity
If a peer/channel disconnects or reconnects, payments that are trying to route during that period can fail
I’m not sure how to respond. Thank for your help. I’ll ignore all the health check failures and warning messages. My node seems to be working, but I get failed payment messages from OCEAN frequently so it must be their problem. I really have no idea, that’s why I looked at the logs, and I know you don’t like AI even though Matt uses it exclusively, Claude was telling me a lot of the problems were linked to StartOS or maybe my setup. Recent update to CLN described these issues, but I still have the messages in the logs.
I didn’t say ignore the health checks. I’m just saying don’t get hung up on the logs, if nothing is wrong. In your case, you have having trouble with failed payments. The logs you provided don’t show an obvious CLN crash or a clear error that explains the failed payments. Did you go through the steps Gloriana mentioned?
I’d like to know more about the circumstance that you are seeing a failed health check.
I dont know how to do 2 and 3. Doesnt matter i closed the channel due to the fork.
You’ll have to tell me what you mean/need for your last statement. That was the whole reason I was trying to get help. The logs are littered with health check failures.
