I finished packaging N8N for StartOS and am working to get this into the community registry. Meanwhile I need some folks to alpha test it and provide feedback…

N8N

  • N8N is a fair-code workflow automation platform that lets you build complex automations with a visual editor. Connect hundreds of apps, transform data, and automate tasks with a self-hosted, privacy-respecting solution.
  • N8N claims they are the “world’s most popular workflow automation platform for technical teams” I’m already testing automating inbound emails to be processed by an LLM then create appropriate tasks for me in my task management system.

  • Github: .s9pk file for sideloading is in the assets section at bottom of releases

I finished packaging Vikunja for StartOS and am working to get this into the community registry. Meanwhile I need some folks to alpha test it and provide feedback…

Vikunja

  • Vikunja is a to-do and project manager — kanban boards, gantt charts, table views, attachments, labels, filters, and CalDAV in one app.
  • I’m using Vikunja to replace Asana for managing all of my to-do lists and task management

Tested every action on Vikunja except SMTP (not ready on this test device). I’d say this one is ready for submission. Awesome work.

(Minus points for having an alpaca for the logo instead of a vicuña – but not your fault)

OwnTracks

OwnTracks lets you keep a private history and a live view of your own and family members locations. Phones publish location updates over MQTT to a broker running on your StartOS server; the recorder stores the history, and a web front-end renders it on a map. Apps for iOS and Android.

Blossom Server

Blossom Server is a content-addressed blob storage server for the Nostr Blossom protocol. Clients upload files via HTTP and retrieve them by SHA-256 hash. Authentication is Nostr-signed events (kind 24242, BUD-11) — there are no traditional user accounts. Retention is governed by configurable MIME-type rules that double as an upload allowlist.

BentoPDF

BentoPDF is a privacy-first, in-browser PDF toolkit. All processing — merging, splitting, editing, converting, signing, OCR — happens client-side in your browser. Files never leave your device.

This StartOS package additionally bundles the optional AGPL WebAssembly libraries locally, so the heavyweight conversion tools work without any external CDN being contacted at runtime.
