Connecting my server to sparrow

Hey guys, I just noticed my node wasnt connected to sparrow and when I put in the credentials it wont sync. Any help would be appreciated

“Wont sync” isn’t enough to go on. Sparrow doesn’t sync, it relies on the backend to do that. You choose the backend ((Electrs, Fulcrum), Bitcoin). If it doesn’t connect, that’s probably your issue.

My electrum server wont connect to sparrow. Im pretty sure its because of the update bug or whatever.

What update bug?

That it won’t connect is a given, I believe you, but there has to be an error when you click “Test Server” in Sparrow or in the logs of whatever service you’re connecting to on StartOS.

The 0.3 to 0.4 update issue I called it a bug but technically idk what to call it. Im in the process of trying to flash the new OS but i get this alert when I select the OS drive(usb) and data drive (samsung ssd. In the Start 9 server)

This may help as well

Just replying here because idk what else to do, would love to get this figured out before the fork

You can’t install the StartOS onto a USB drive you are already using to install the OS. Or on any USB drive for that matter.

Install the OS and keep the Data both on your internal drive, the Samsung.

the instructions call for the OS to be flashed onto a USB drive using belena etcher then to reboot the server from the USB in the upper field and the server in the lower field.

Im obviously not technical. Iam trying to install the OS. Would you mind letting me know what I can do to fix this?

just trying to give more context idk if this helps

Context is good, but I can only check in periodically (if this is a Server One or Server Pure you should be at https://start9.me for live support)

How did you get from the failing USB install to the final image where you finished the install but now can’t connect?

I was having issues with my electrum server and figured out the OTA update didnt go over well. So thats when I started to follow guide to flash OS onto the server pure. Once I unplugged the server and booted it back up with USB in it I got to where the screenshots are at.

its an old cheap USB drive so maybe thats the issue?

Thanks for leaving me hanging STU. Very professional. If you cant help me is there anyone who can?

I do not think the USB drive is the issue. From the screenshot you posted, it looks like you successfully completed the upgrade from 0.3.5.1. The error message in you last screenshot simply indicates that the browser has lost connection to the server. I’m not sure if you are still at this exact place, but if so, a hard refresh of the browse is the next course of action. ctrl+shift+r on Windows or Linux, cmd+shift+r on mac. It’s also possible that your server is not present on the same network as the client machine. Check the connections, and make sure your client machine is not on some sort of guest wifi.

Are you still having issues with this? I was having constant issues with elctrs service after the upgrade and eventually switched to Fulcrum and that solved the problem. What service are you using for electrum?
