Connectivity issues

I had a brief power cut and now I’m unable to access my Start9 via local network, and it seems the Start9 is unable to access some Internet resources. Nothing has changed about my physical setup, and nothing on the network as far as I can tell. I’m connected through an Eero router. I’ve restarted the whole network multiple times and have the Start9 connected to a TV so I can solve the issue. I see the following error messages when I run the UI on the TV:

  • Clock sync failure. In the docs, it says to check I’m not blocking NTP and then contact support. I couldn’t find anything on Eero settings about NTP (and I haven’t changed anything since it was working). That’s why I’m here.
  • When I try a software update, I see:

RPC ERROR: Network Error error sending request for url (https://registry.start9.com//eos/v0/latest?… A VERY LONG URL): error trying to connect: dns error: failed to lookup address information: Name or service not known.

When I try to visit my .local URL, I see “Connecting” in the bottom left corner.

I’m looking for a pointer to see how I can get this thing back up and running ASAP. Thanks.

Sounds like your server is not on your network. When you are connected to a TV, you’re looking at what we call kiosk mode. From kiosk mode, please restart your server. System>Restart.

Then take a look under System>About to see if your server has a valid IP address.

enp2s0 (IPv4) and enp2s0 (IPv6) are both “n/a”. I think that means there’s no valid IP address. Any idea how to solve this (or anything else I should find out)? Nothing about my physical setup changed between working and not working, so is there any setting I can check for that might have changed on my router, for example?

I may be an idiot. Seems like my ethernet cable was a bit wobbly. Replaced it. Things connecting slowly.
