DATUM and Stats resetting each time the service restarts

Hi,

I have DATUM setup and mining as a solo mining with an Avalon Nano 3S. Everything is working perfectly, and I can see the stats on DATUM’s Clients tab on the DATUM gateway’s site. One gripe I have is that every time I restart the DATUM service, the history of the clients are wiped clean; specifically the DIFF(A) values.

Is this expected and is there any way to save this information and have it repopulate after the service restarts (eg, after a backup/restart)?

I actually don’t know if this is default functionality. I’d have to set it all up to see. But I’m not sure what benefit the discarded history of now irrelevant hashing would be or why it should be preserved. That alone makes me think that this is expected.

Does it have to do with hashing - no. not at all. But anytime the service is restarted (or network connection is broken or maybe it’s random), the history of the highest accepted share rate is reset. Yesterday I had something in the 800,000,000 range, but now I have 34 accepted shares with the highest difficulty as 35,651,584.

If I was mining to a pool, it would retain the history of what my highest difficulty was… Does it matter? No - you either mine a block or you don’t… but, it’s a neat thing to keep track of. I noticed that last night my TID/CID was 0/0 and today it’s 1/0, another indication of something that happened.

Hmm. Reasonable. I remember my BitAxe did really well once, but I don’t remember how well.

I’ll ask the Datum team, they manage the package.

Datum team say this is expected behavior as Datum doesn’t have any kind of integrated database, it doesn’t store anything.
