I foolishly deleted my Core Lightning program when it held a small amount of Bitcoin and I did not write down recovery seed. I reinstalled the program and the Bitcoin is not there. I am curious if my server some how kept the previous hsm_secret file for the previous CL program. Wondering if some deep dive on my server could dig up the hex string or something that could recover the previous seed. Thanks guys!
Did you not have a server backup created with the StartOS Backup system?
If so, you could restore CLN from the backup and if they were in an open channel, eventually they will return to the CLN On-Chain wallet.
