NO! Start 9 does not force anything on you. Not even critical security updates. The only way you are running BIP110 is if you specifically installed, or updated to a flavor of Bitcoin that contains BIP110.
When you choose to update services on your server, it is 100% your responsibility to read the release notes, and be aware of the implications.
If you would like assistance reverting to a previous version, and/or a different flavor, I would be happy to assist.

I disagree 100% with you (because you could give me options instead of saying “LOL should have read the changelog, now you’re FUCKED, do not try to install older versions it might cripple your server!”). I saw update, I clicked. I didn’t know that this update is purely political, without anything security related. But I guess I have to read changelogs now for every update, thanks a lot!
Sorry but I lost all my respect for Start9. This is not how to approach this.
And if you are still willing to help me being against BIP110, I’d be happy to. I had knots installed, flipped back to core (that you guys updated as well!) and I just HATE how you guys do business here. Every new Star9 user needs to know that when he installs Start9 he by default supports BIP110.

Your anger is misdirected, and based on misunderstandings. There is no sinister motive here. You are absolutely not “FUCKED.” But you absolutely should read the release notes before updating, if you have political concerns with what might be contained there-in the project. It’s your server. We respect that. You can do whatever you want with it. You have to take responsibility for what you are doing as a self hoster. Start9 does not make decisions for you. We DO NOT update your server. But we do make it easy as possible for you to do so, should YOU choose to do so. Start9 does not moderate, nor make choices about new features that are included in software updates. For software available in the official registry, we maintain the package wrapper which allows the software package to run properly on StartOS. That’s it. Please direct any questions about features such as BIP110 the appropriate developers of said project.

Since I cannot react negatively to your answer - which I disagree with ENTIRELY - with the emojis allowed, I’ll leave this post here to show my disrespect for this asshole move, sorry. I can’t even “go back to core” for non-BIP110, because you only allow the newest version with BIP110. It’s not even an official patch supported by the core team.
Fuck this shit, I regret having installed Start9!
