Hi everyone, Ive had my node a few years no problem. Recently it didnt connect but I noticed its 97% full so im sure thats the problem. Searching the forum I saw it say I’d need to upgrade. I’m away from my node and I’m fine with a pruned version. I tried uninstalling electrs and I got an error there wasn’t enough space to do so. I only have Core and mempool. Im unsure what to do. Thanks in advance for the help.
If you intend to prune, that’s a setting in the Bitcoin config. Electrs, and the Mempool services on StartOS requires a fully synced archival Bitcoin Core node, so pruning will limit functionality of your node. Some wallets such as Sparrow can connect directly to Bitcoin.
A better option would be to replace the drive with at least a 2TB SSD. 4TB would be more future proof.
Ok. I didnt know Electrs needed full archive. I understand. I will upgrade to 4TB.
But until I do, since I can’t uninstall services, is best method to reset the whole start9 system and only install pruned version of Core. Then I can connect to the network in the meantime via my coordinator like Sparrow or other? Until I can upgrade node. Do I understand that correctly?
Thank you very much for the assistance.
You may have to prune first, and then uninstall electrs, and mempool. You can add them again after you upgrade the drive.
