Diy mini pc stuck at kiosk

I am not tech savvy at all but I’m trying. I flashed my mini pc with start os and was unable to see anything after entering http://start.local. I then connected my monitor, keyboard and mouse to the mini pc and I just see the kiosk mode refreshing every few seconds.

at one point it said “/home/kiosk/.Xauthority does not exist” but then it disappeared

The error you see is because StartOS doesn’t like your graphics card and monitor. Based on Linux, your hardware manufacturer probably has drivers available for Windows and nothing else. With open source drivers in the “free” version and some added closed source drivers in the “non-free” one, you’ll need to make sure you’re downloading the “non-free” ISO to have any hope of getting it to work. Unfortunately, this is life when it comes to specific manufacturers of PCs.

Assuming you were already using “non-free” and your mini PC will never work with a monitor (and it probably won’t have this error when you disconnect the monitor and start.local works) if you can’t access start.local, you’d need to investigate the steps listed here: Start9 | Common Issues
