Do I have to upgrade Bitcoin Knots plus BIP-110, 29.3.0?

I am running Bitcoin Knots plus BIP-110, 29.3.0 on StartOS.
Is this the latest or do I have to upgrade?

And the update page does not load:

I don`t want to miss the party - what I got to do?

  • You’re on an outdated and no longer supported OS that does not receive updates
  • The owners of the BIP110 registry abandoned it (it’s nothing to so with Start9, you added it yourself)
  • Inability to load the other registries suggests a lack of internet connection (you’d need to work on that)
  • “Bitcoin Knots plus BIP-110” has been redundant for a month or two, since the latest version of Knots has 110 built-in.

You mean I shall upgrade to 0.4.0.1?
II says “This is a major migration, not a routine update.”
    Can`t I avoid it? I don``t have the time nor the knowledge.:worried:

Great choice of those developers. I thought the goal is to have as many BIP110 nodes running and not building obstacles to plebs.

The services are running and I yesterday even used the mempool and elektrs.

What does that mean. Do I have to upgrade?.

How did you manage to get StartOS v0351 onto your device? I’m pretty sure you have the technical skills to do it again if you’ve done it before on a server you’ve built yourself.

If you bought a server from Start9 with the OS pre-installed… why don’t you make use of the included life-time support from your purchase? → https://start9.me

I installed it with the help of the telegram channel. It was a nightmare.
I made a mistake not buying a server from Start9. But I am not living in the US, so I bought a NitroPC in Germany. And it does not restart, when the server crushes during a outage. So I am currently searching for a technical solution for this issue as well.
It’s all very time consuming.
But I am a Bitcoiner and will be rewarded one day. :slightly_smiling_face:

Can you answer theses questions?

a) Can`t I avoid it?
b) Since the services are running and I yesterday even used the mempool and elektrs, doesn`t this proves that the server IS connected?
c) Do I HAVE to upgrade Knots plus BIP110, 29.3.0 or does it just what it should?

The whole installation of knots was very confusing and the sources changed.
And you even don`t get any message.
Not really professional. Makes you thinking of the counter arguments of core …

OK, I think if you can follow the disjointed comments of a bunch of random telegram plebs then it’s not going to be particularly difficult to follow an official guide instead. Give this a read through: Update to StartOS 0.4.0 - StartOS

a) You can stay on 0351 as long as you want, forever if you prefer, but there won’t be any software updates.
b) Yes, it does. Do I’d hard refresh the marketplace and update pages and see if it was a temporary issue
c) You don’t have to do anything, some people have reasons to run older software.

I’d still recommend upgrading though.
