Empty registries after fresh install of 0.4.0-alpha.11

Hi there,

I’m pretty new to Start9 and very impressed. I am on a Pi5 with 0.4.0-alpha.11 and thanks to the awesome documentation online I was able to get everything up and running.

But, for now all my registries are empty. It just keeps on loading…loading…loading. So, no marketplace. Nothing happens.

So I’m having a haaaard time to install my first services. I’m looking to run a BTC node. Any help, please?

Cheers Yugi

Hey @Yugi , while StartOS is in Alpha, the apps aren’t going to be in the registry. You’d need to go install the current stable release 0.3.5

Hi @datamaycare,

Thx for your instant reply.

I didn’t know about the consequences when I chose a Start9 package to install. How long may it take until a version is available that fixes this issue?

Cheers Yugi

Just reflash the v0.3.5.1 release and you’re good to go man.
We’re all waiting on when 040 will be released, I can’t promise you anything there other than “soon”.

Will do. Thanks again.

Cheers

Hello again,

reflashed my SD card with v0.3.5.1. Upon boot-up it says:

“The installed operating system (OS) does not indicate support for Raspberry Pi5”

… before 0.40 was running."

What am I missing, please?

Cheers Yugi

UPDATE:
George from the support mailed me with a perfect solution. I was able to import the services via: https://alpha-registry-x.start9.com/

Thx again to all involved.

Cheers Yugi

Just a quick summary of points…

  • There is no publicly released version of v0.4.0 that you should be using, it’s not supported and not expected to be working perfectly.
  • Therefore the advice to use v0.3.5.1 is correct.
  • George answered your question correctly, but nothing on the alpha registry is supported.
  • Only v0.4.0 supports a a Pi5, you can’t use v0.3.5.1 on a Pi5
