So im up to date on everything thats going on with bitcoin core. I just have a question for everyone thats willing to reply and give me feed back. So core is attacking bitcoin through arbitrary code being injected into block transaactions via OP_Return. So there is a number of people switching to using knots. I personally will be running knots when my server pure comes in the mail. My question is being that core is community lead. is knots community lead/developed as well? I remember seeing somewhere that luke is the primary dev but im not super familiar. I think it would be great if it was community lead and not just run by one person. Someone please educate me because im not sure. Thank you in advance!
I’m not sure what you mean by “community lead/developed.” Bitcoin Core, I believe, has four or five maintainers. Bitcoin Knots is a code fork of Bitcoin Core, maintained solely by Luke Dashjr. Bitcoin Knots is down stream from Bitcoin Core, with certain additions and modifications not approved by the Core maintainers. Luke Dashjr is, and has been, a Bitcoin Core contributor since 2011. Both are open source projects, which anyone from in the community can submit contributions to.
Here’s a list I found of the differences.
