In order to be able to close the channels from another node, I would like to install a 2nd instance of LND. But I can’t find any option for it. There is already an LND instance installt that also runs with channels and credits. It should not be influenced by this. Is this possible?
Running more than one instance of the same service is not supported at the OS level. You’d need a second physical machine, or a VM. You can however, run LND and CLN on the same StartOS server. Would that accomplish your purpose?
Thanks Rexter for the quick reply.
Then I guess I’ll have to set up a 2nd VM. is it enough to run a proned node for the purpose only for LND? otherwise I need another 1.5TB of hard disk space. Or can I use the existing blockchain for the 2. VM (Start9 ist a VM on Proxmox)
Perhaps if you can tell me a little more about what you’re trying to do, I can help you find the best solution. I’m not clear on why you need a second LND node to close a channel from another node.
My old Raspiblitz node has too little hard disk space and had to be reflashed because of a white screen. Now since the update to V 1.12 the node sync is stuck. I have already deactivated all other services and deleted data, but the remaining 37GB of free hard disk space are not enough to sync the old node. This has been running for 2 months now and has already been restarted a few times or tried with a new SD card. One chanal on this node is privat an the other side told me that ther system crashed. I have to close the chanal from my side.
You’re going to want to setup a new StartOS server, VM or not is fine, but it has to be on the same subnet as the Raspiblitz. Once you’ve installed, and fully synced Bitcoin, you can attempt to migrate. Prune node is fine. This will happen automatically if the drive offered to your StartOS server is less than 1TB. Then attempt the migration process:
