Http://start.local not recognized, using Aerwave

Hello Start9 Support and Community,

I just received the new Start 9 Server today. I am using Aerwave internet but it does not recognize local http addresses. It is mainly designed for WiFi but there is an access point with four LAN Ports with an ethernet connection. When connecting the server to the access point, the local address http://start.local is not recognized. I tried plugging the ethernet cable directly into the computer and into the Start9 server with all VPN and Wifi off, and get the address from terminal (Mac) using command arp -a per AI suggestion. This brought up an address but did not work when entering in the browser.

Has anyone found a solution using Start9 with Aerwave? Also when I called Aerwave support they said they could see the server plugged in to the port but the speed was only 100 mbs but the port is 1 GBps, and that there could be something wrong with the server. The Start9 Server is right out of the box brand new. That is also when I learned Aerwave does not support local http addresses.

This is reason enough to get your own router. The idea that they can see what devices are plugged into what, is unacceptable to me.

That aside though, you can connect to your server via IP address. The server needs to be connected to your ISP’s spy device, er uh, I mean router. If you can access the router’s admin interface, there you can find a list of devices and their IP addresses. One should be called “Start.” That’s your server. You can follow the guide otherwise, but use that IP address, rather than start.local. If you can’t find it, you can call the creepy people who are watching you, since they seem to know about your devices. They should be able to tell you the IP address of your server, along with the color of your underwear, and what you had for breakfast.

Hi Rexter, thank for the response. Aerwave told me they cannot see the IP addresses, only the speed of the connection.

I plugged in a router to the access point based on info in this message, plugged start9 into the router, and joined the WiFi for the network name on the router. But the only IP address visible on the router connected devices is my iMac.

I then unconnected the Start9 Server, connected a laptop to the router, and the laptop was visible as a wired device on the router with its own IP address.

But the Start9 server does not show up when doing the same thing.

That is great news! How do I get the access code? I don’t see any emails with the access code.

Your access code and invitation was sent to you shortly after you made your purchase.
