I just unboxed my Start9 Server Pure 3 hours ago and could not get my T-mobile wireless router to see it. I then typed in the IP number that T-mobile had for my only ethernet connected device (my Start9) and I went directly to the start up page for Start9. The CA in my downloads simply says Quicktime cannot open it.
Question: Can I verify my CA later or does that set traps in front of me for later?

Hi Dave, should be OK to verify it later. I usually do it right away when setting up a new StartOS. Follow this guide Start9 | Trusting Your Root CA
Technically you could go your whole life without trusting the CA, but your experience is less pretty and full of annoying warnings.
I’d be more concerned that you were not able to access start.local and likely not the unique .local that was generated at the end of the set up process. That needs to work.
