I am having a problem with TOR network. It stuck for hours. I used the experimental features to reset TOR (with/without Wipe state) without any luck. TOR is blocked where I live and I use bridges with my TOR Browser to get into TOR.
Any idea how to do this on StartOS without messing up ?
The tor network is notorious for not being very fast or reliable.
When there is trouble connecting, the experimental tor reset feature you have already tried can help find a stable connection after a couple tries. Also, waiting and trying this same process at another time when congestion / trouble might of passed can help.
But, if you are definitely in a location where the ISP / Government is actively blocking their citizen´s access to the tor network, this is a different problem all together.
At this time, there is no specific way to set up tor bridges from the StartOS GUI.
Hopefully other users who have previously run into a similar issue can chime in with some recommendations.
Your best option is to configure your router to rout all traffic from your server through a VPN tunnel, such as Mullvad, or Proton. A lot of privacy VPN serves have obfuscation methods that are much harder to detect and block than tor.
Why is this a best option? This would need me to add two extra external steps that are not really necessary if I just configure TOR bridges in StartOS.
