Hi I’ve been trying to figure out JAM all day and can’t seem to communicate with the directories, peers, or establish a consistent connection.
It works when I pay the taker fees, but it does not work providing liquidity as a maker.
I played with adding more BTC to the wallet, adding a fidelity bond, stopping and starting the service, etc. At one point I did see my offer on the maker directory, but now I do not see it anymore.
The logs consist of messages like this
[INFO] Failed to connect to peer
[INFO] Going to reattempt connection to in 25.25 second (with the reattempt timeout increasing)
[WARNING] Connection had broken pipe, attempting reconnect.
[WARNING] Failure to send message to directory:
Any know any other ideas I can try?
Jam doesn’t work very well at the moment, and there’s not much you can do about it. The directory nodes have been under attack, and so have makers. You may find your whole server unresponsive if you leave Earn running for a while. Jam V2 is under development, and should solve most of the current issues. It’s probably a few months out though. In the meantime, you might be better of with other options. Good news is, I heard they just got some funding, from HRF.

For what it’s worth. I still use it. Even as maker, I still get occasional mixes, despite not being able to see my order on the order-books. But we just can’t expect it to work reliably right now.
Nice, I did eventually get some success in seeing it on the order book, but I decided to wait for the updated version.
