Mempool via LAN / .local shows as "Not secure"

I followed the instructions to Trusting Your Root CA on Windows, and that worked for my StartOS .local pages. But the mempool app still shows as “Not secure”. How can I make that show as a properly secured SLL site?

Running:

  • StartOS 0.3.5~1
  • Mempool 3.2.1~1
  • Bitcoin Core 28.1.0~2
  • electrs 0.10.9

Hey Esp!

  1. First, check if Chrome has network access enabled in:
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network*

  2. Then, make sure Chrome is configured correctly by following our [guide ]

(Start9 | Configuring Chrome to Respect Your Root CA).

Hi Gloriana,

Thanks for the info. I’m no longer seeing the “Not secure” message. I think maybe just restarting my browser got it to take effect, but maybe my stumbling through the guide (your #2) played a role - though I’ve since undone the change, so I’m guessing not.

Anyway, neither of your instructions quite matched what I saw, so FYI below, and maybe you can update the guide?

  1. There is no “Local Network” section under “Privacy & Security”
  2. There is no “Authorities” tab.

Hey!

Good to know it got fixed. Thanks for the info — I’ve informed the team about the new Chrome settings changes.
