Monero Node on Start 9 unreachable

My Monero Node on Start 9 runs for a few weeks but then I get the spinning wheel and a message “Monero RPC is unreachable”

If I restart the node it connects again fine but then after a couple of weeks - same again. I would have thought it should be able to stay on 24/7 as having to keep checking it’s running is tedious

Hi Josef,

What is the server model you’re using? What are the hardware specs?

What else are you running on this device? What do the logs record when you see this happening? When it happens, are any other services suffering issues? Are you able to access the StartOS UI normally?

Hi
It’s a Start 9 One on Start OS 0.3.5~1
Running Knots, Mempool, Datum and Alby in addition to Monero Node
Everything else is running with no issues
Logs in the Monero app I have just checked and it shows

I see the line No incoming connections - check firewalls/routers allow port 18080" appears exactly once every hour at precisely the same time and is in Red which is never a good sign right

These logs have nothing in them relevant to the RPC interface being reachable or not. The line in the logs in referring to a port for the docker container. I’m not the service packager and I don’t know whether this is an issue or not, but I have the same line in my logs.

I also just now found my own Monero instance on a test server with the same initial error you mention. Ultimately we may need to post an issue here with the community maintainer.
