Monero node service not stopping

I installed the Monero node from services and it ran with zero problems. I needed to stop the node and pressed stop. It has been stopping for 3 days now just a spinning circle. That can’t be right surely

It looks like you are experiencing a stopping loop with the Monero Service.

Try restarting your server.

Ok I did that and the whole server will now not restart, it just hangs on connecting. If I try to shut down I get an error gateway timeout. So now nothing is working. What to try

How did you do the restart?

I went to the settings page and pressed restart

So it might be a browser caching issue. Have you tried a hard reset on the page?

Ctrl + Shift + R (Win/Lin)
Cmd + Shift + R (Mac)
