just wondering about using the tor nostr relay
I’ve tor running on my device, but I can’t add the tor relay to the primal app
it asks for a wss and not ws
basically how to I use my nostr tor relay with nostr clients!

Not all Nostr clients accept the use of a .onion address for relays, yet.
You could use the Nostrudel service provided on StartOS or any other mobile client such as Amethyst which does allow the use of .onion relays.

I don’t have Tor installed system wide on my machine, so I think Nostrudel is out of the question right?
Do you know of an ios nostr app that allows tor relays?
Is running your nostr relay necessary for remembering/linking your notes followers etc over time, and across platforms, or is that something that the free relays will provide?

Having Tor run in the background of iOS or any other OS is not a big deal. Takes just a few minutes to follow each guide.
For Primal, if you have it add to Orbot, forcing the full relay address to have the prefix ws:// should work… it used to, at least.
