noStrudel not showing .mp4's with Firefox

I added the noStrudel from marketplace and enjoy using it, however any post with an .mp4 shows up as “Video can not be played because the file is corrupt.”

Any fixes available by chance or work around?

Love the Start9 great stuff, thanks to the staff for putting this all together.

This happens for all your .mp4 files? You will need to do more troubleshooting on this. I just tested with my StartOS noStrudel and it was able to play .mp4 files w/out issue. Here are some thoughts that may help you:

  1. If you have issues with NOSTR - the problem is almost always relays. Look for issues there.
  2. Try viewing the same note at https://nostrudel.ninja/ instead of your self hosted version and see if there are problems playing .mp4 files from there.
  3. Look to see what noStrudel has for the content of the note. When looking at a note in noStrudel, look for the three dots menu in the bottom right. Click there, select view raw, then on the far right, click the down arrow by content to show the content of the note. The notes I looked at with videos had, in addition to other text, something that looks like this: https://video.nostr.build/940d9f1f5575450c106941a73611ca433611d891f3f66f6e3fa84625bc06412a.mp4
  4. If you can’t play that link directly - (Copy it to a new tab in your web browser and try there) then there may be an issue with your device / browser as it tries to play .mp4 files.
  5. Look at Firefox settings - maybe something there is blocking playing the files
  6. Try a different browser or device and look at the same note. If it works there, then the issue is your client, not the server side.

When you figure this out, please update here - it may help others!!!
