My openclaw has grown enough that I’ve split it out as its own package with its own ID, so it installs alongside the community OpenClaw rather than replacing it.
What the extra butter is:
- Bundled Qdrant vector database (own volume) for long-term memory.
- Helper agents the main agent can spawn, on cloud models or your own Ollama. The main agent can still create them itself, but you can see and manage them all from an action.
- Built-in credential handling: the rbw Bitwarden-compatible CLI ships in the package (x86_64 and aarch64). Point it at your Vaultwarden once and the package logs in and unlocks it at every start, keeps it unlocked, and lets the other connectors pull their API keys from the vault instead of storing them in plain config. The master password is kept by the package (and its backups), so treat backups accordingly.
- Optional connectors to services you already run: Vaultwarden, Ollama, an SMB NAS, n8n, Trilium, SearXNG, Crawl4AI and ntfy, plus host mappings and a custom CA for internal HTTPS.
- Mobile webchat with one profile per person (optional PINs). I use it from my iPhone as a private channel that feels closer to the Claude app than the OpenClaw web interface.
- Built-in PDF reading with OCR, and a health skill.
- Optional (off by default) StartOS administration via start-cli. Root-equivalent, so think before enabling it.
