Possible Infection of Start9 Server Pure?

When I connect over my local network I see a small icon of a green coiled snake sitting just above the Connected indication. I am using Firefox 139.0.1 on a MacBook Pro 2009. When I clicked on it opened up a box inviting me to “Play Snek”. I did not click on it but I will attach a snapshot of it. Does anyone know what this is?

@md11mark it seem like you found a easter egg!
Me too I have the same, thanks for pointing it out…

Try it and enjoy the infection! Post your best score here: The real important question here, what is your high score in Snek?

So this is a game that is normal on the StartOS interface??

Yes, totally normal.

An Easter egg in software refers to a hidden feature, message, or inside joke that developers include in a program or application. These Easter eggs are often not documented and are meant to be discovered by users as a fun surprise. They can take various forms, such as hidden games, secret commands, or playful graphics. Easter eggs are typically included as a way for developers to showcase their creativity and add a layer of enjoyment to the user experience. Examples include hidden messages in the credits of a game or a secret level that can be accessed through a specific sequence of actions.

Thanks for the explanation and reassurance that all is normal. Because the icon was a snake made it seem sinister to me. Because I was also having trouble connecting to my node when I noticed this, made me very suspicious. It turns out that I couldn’t connect to my node using Brave but I found that I could connect using Firefox so I think it must be a setting in Brave browser.
