Proxmox 9 and Start9

Has anyone updated Proxmox 8 to 9 and run on this machine Start9 in a VM?
My question is, is it safe to update or should I wait😅

StartOS itself won’t care about the underlying virtualized hardware if that hardware is kept the same. So I guess the question is… is Proxmox 9 full of bugs? That I don’t know.

Thats clear for me but it would be nice if somebody had tested this configuration and can tell if there are any problems.

Hi Sirius,

I’m running StartOS 0.4.0 alpha as a VM on Proxmox 9.0.3, and everything looks stable and running smoothly. One feature I particularly like is the snapshot functionality—it’s going to be very handy whenever I start experimenting and “breaking” things.

You mean the normal Snapshots from Proxmox? These are great but it took a while for 2TB😅 Anyway I will use them before I upgrade my system and will see.

I unfortunately had to nuke my Proxmox setup because of my own user mistakes so haven’t had the chance to do the upgrade, but I don’t see why the upgrade would be a problem as it never has been before.

I upgraded my Proxmox 8 instance to 9 this morning. I followed the upgrade guide, and it went smoothly. Was back online in under 20 minutes.
