I’m on a Mac Mini, OS Sequoia 15.2, Server One
This is regarding using Jam on Server One.
In a few of the jars under “Tags”, I am getting “Change-out” tags and I can’t find out what that means or how to change it so that I can send UTXOs to cold storage. The “Change-out” tags have lasted for days. I’ve tried “Unfreeze” with no resolve. I have read through the Jam Docs a few times and did not find anything that specifically addresses this, nor did I see the “Change-out” button that is showing in my wallet. I’ve scanned through the FAQ both here and in the Jam docs but not seeing what I need. I’m guessing that it’s a simple thing that I’m not understanding or seeing and would appreciate help.
Change out is the funds that didn’t get mixed and are still tied to you. Theses should be held separately and not mixed with funds that have been mixed - doing that unmixes everything.
Thank you Stu. Does that mean I [should/can] send them un-mixed? Or is there a way to send each UTXO separate from the others in the jar? Or would depositing new UTXOs that also need to be mixed into the jar, would that mix with all the “Change-out” ones and fix the problem?
You can do what you link with them, they’re no different from the funds you put into the mix originally. This means you can spend them, or you can send them to be mixed. If you do mix this “doxic” change, make sure to not mix them with the output of a previous mix into a new mix.
And, probably, don’t mixed 3 different change outputs into one new mix as this will likely provide people with certain clues about you and help them work out which mixes were you and find patterns in them. You might then say the outputs are too small to be mixed individually. That might be true. So you might either just decide to mix them anyway since you doubt anyone is paying too much attention to you… or you might decide to do something else with them… Donate them to Start9, send them to a custodial lightning wallet to be spent over lightning, or spend them somewhere where you’re already KYCd and doxed.
As to things being in the same jar… no that’s not a problem, a jar is not a real thing. What you need to be worried about is UTXOs in addresses. Each UTXO in a single jar is in its own address. The jars are just to help you manage them.
Thank you Stu. I appreciate your help!
I believe you have change-out amounts because you didn’t do a sweep of the jar into a CJ? If you use a sweep to CJ it should clear the jar completely
Thanks makes sense. Thank you.
