My Nextcloud got stuck in maintenance mode after updating to the latest version. I tried everything I could and ended up deleting it so I could restore from backup. But now when I try to restore from backup it just gets stuck at Downloading 0%. Thankfully I kept all my nextcloud data backed up locally as well but I really need to be able to restore from my backup and I’m not sure why it isn’t working.
Is there any error displayed? What is shown in the OS log and Kernel logs when you try to restore? Are you able to backup to the same source successfully? (i.e. some other service) Are you sure the previous backup completely successfully’?
I am able to backup and restore other services to the same source successfully. And I don’t think there were any issues with the last backup. For additional information, I’ve tried restoring from the usual network drive, and also a physical drive and got the same results.
I found these warnings in the OS logs “WARN list: startos::disk::util: Could not get vendor of /dev/nvme0n1: No such file or directory (os error 2)” and “WARN list: startos::disk::util: Could not collect usage information: mount: /media/embassy/tmp/E3RNS3F3QI4CPNNQVCSNYORWLN7Q2ENU3BZWRJXFYL6JHCDWHRRQ: unknown filesystem type ‘LVM2_member’.

The Kernel logs are showing “CIFS: Attempting to mount” “br-start9: port 5(veth4) entered disabled state” “device veth4 left promiscuous mode” “br-start9: port 5(veth4) entered disabled state”
I’m not sure if those logs mean anything.
Where are you backing up to and restoring from’?
My main backup is a shared network folder from my external hdd on my windows pc.
I also copied the backup folder to a EXT4 external hard drive when I tried to restore from a physical drive.
Both methods have the same result.
Is there a way to recover the files without restoring from the backup? I have the password and the encrypted backup, shouldn’t there be a way to recover the data?

My guess is that something failed with the actual backup that StartOS didn’t notice and log, something disconnected and the backup didn’t take place. My worry there would be that the backup is empty. Please let me know if you find that it isn’t.
I don’t think it’s empty because the backup folder takes up about 3tb of storage which is what my server storage used?
