RPC ERROR: Invalid Request Not enough space before embassy data

Hi everyone,

I’ve been running StartOS on a Zimaboard with a 2TB SSD that contains both the OS and my data. I’m now trying to migrate to a Zima 2.

Here’s what I did:
• Swapped the SSD into the Zima 2
• Booted from a freshly flashed USB
• Selected the SSD as the target

At this point, I get the following error:

RPC ERROR: Invalid Request Not enough space before embassy data

I thought the issue might be related to disk space, so I deleted the blockchain data and freed up nearly the entire drive (only a few GB in use), but the same error still occurs.

Has anyone run into this before? Any recommendation?
Thanks in advance!

I don’t have a specific answer for you, but, if it’s not resource prohibitive for you to purchase another SSD and use the new one instead, you could try your luck going through the Transfer process instead. (Start9 | Transfer Data to a New Drive)

But you’d have to check if that device can power an SSD over USB to try this.

Yes, it can be a good workaround. I can use a spare ssd and do the process twice, so I ended up having the system on the original ssd. I’ll give it a try. Thanks.

Update: I had to use an extra drive, but transferring the data twice allowed switching hardware, while keeping the same SSD.
