RPCError file system I/o error when installing StartOS

Having issues installing StartOS on an old pc (HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Mini Desktop Computer, Intel Quad-Core i5-6500T, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD). Installer runs for a bit but then I keep getting this error

I see 4 partitions on the disk after the installer errors.

Any ideas what the issue is? I tried reflashing the installer (64GB micro USB in an adapter) as well as wiping the target drives/partitions on the pc, but keep getting the same error.

Thanks in advance!

The error you are seeing is usually related to a hardware problem. Make sure all connections to the drive are sound and that it is formatted as exFat.

It could also be related to the micro USB in an adapter you are using. Maybe try with a standard USB thumb drive.

Also, you should be using the x86_64-nonfree.iso version of StartOS for your DIY hardware.

Success! Thanks, pretty sure switching to a standard USB drive is what did the trick. Also reformatted the drive to exfat before trying again (but I am pretty sure I did that previously unsuccessfully). All is good now. Appreciate the help!
