SD card & external nvme SSD

I flashed Start9OS on the 128gb SD card and connected an external 2TB nvme SSD to one of the blue ports on the pi 4. During initialisation, I was asked where the data would be saved. So I selected the external SSD as I am running a bitcoin knots.

Question is, is the SD Card still in use by Start9?

Since I read that in Start9 only one drive is used not both. This got me confused as if I want to add new external SSD, won’t Start9 allow this?

Secondly since I am running bitcoin knots and will be running a full node, the 2TB nvme SSD will be purely used for bitcoin blockchain. I intend to add another 1TB external nvme SSD for my media files. This will be for Nextcloud. Is this possible?

In the setup you’ve created you are running with the OS on the microSD card and the data on the external drive.

Your next question isn’t really relevant as a Raspberry Pi 4 isn’t powerful enough to run Bitcoin and hasn’t been for over a year. You might be following an old guide from the 2019-2021 era, pre-Ordinals, Jpegs, stamps etc.

A Pi is also not powerful enough to run two external USB drives. You’ll need a proper mini PC.
