Server Pure fan making buzzing noise and running high temp

Fan started making a noise that sounds similar to a weed whacker at low volume. Running around 65 degrees Celsius to 88 degrees Celsius. I restarted it but seemed to continue similar noise. I vacuumed out the holes underneath and on the side in case there was dust or something in there. Any advice? Do I need to take it apart and make sure the fan is not obstructed? I have a video that would not post for some reason.

If your server is working very hard (Initial Bitcoin Download?) it may be running hot - causing the fan to run at high speed to keep the temperature in check.

If it is just a loud fan there may not be anything to do. If it sounds like the fan might actually be broken you should consider repairing / replacing the fan - hopefully under warranty.

Is this a DIY build? or did you purchase the server from Start9?

NOTE: If you are using a Server One we have instructions to turn off performance mode - that can reduce fan noise.- check out this thread:

I purchased it from start9. It does sound more like a broken fan than just the normal fan sound when it ramps up.

You should ask for help on the Private Support Server for Start9. Since you purchased your Server Pure from Start9 you should have that support included automatically. If your account is already set up, just log in and ask for help in the Community - StartOS room. Once there, you can upload your video / audio file with the sound the fan is making and Start9 can support any warranty work required.

If you haven’t setup your account, go to the web site: Start9 Me - Private Support Server and enter your email address and the support Access code you received when you purchased your server. That will let you create your account and logon to the server.
