Server Pure running hot

I recently bought a start9, server pure.

I am still downloading core and have no other services running yet. My server pure is running at 85°C - 90°C

I also have startOS running on a beelink.
It is running over 10 services at 55°C - 60°C

Why does Server Pure run so hot?

The Server Pure naturally runs hot, and is designed to dissipate heat via it’s metal shell as well as via the fan. It is a device that needs to be kept in a ventilated location.

As for comparing a device that is actively syncing Bitcoin and one that is not… the one syncing, which is a very intensive activity, is going to run much hotter. When it’s not syncing, it’s going to run cooler.

Okay, thank you.

Also having issues connecting now

ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED

I’d need a lot more context. How/what/why are you connect through Tor to get that error and where are you getting it?

I was signed in

Got timed out
Cant get back in
It said it could be from over aggressive ad blocker or needing to clear cache. My cache is clear.

StartOS has no mechanism to log you out. Is that what you mean by “cant get back in” or do you mean your browser can’t open the IP or .local?

It is possible to get a “gateway timeout” error. Is that what you mean by “got timed out?” If so, it would seem like your server had restarted at some point during this.

“over aggressive ad blocker” normally refers to instances of the UI’s javascript getting blocked at the browser level. But considering the unusually series of events…

Hard-refreshing is probably the best the next step.

(You say you’re working on a Server Pure… I would recommend you direct support requests to start9.me – since that level of support is included with your server purchase.)
