Server Pure running hot

I recently bought a start9, server pure.

I am still downloading core and have no other services running yet. My server pure is running at 85°C - 90°C

I also have startOS running on a beelink.
It is running over 10 services at 55°C - 60°C

Why does Server Pure run so hot?

The Server Pure naturally runs hot, and is designed to dissipate heat via it’s metal shell as well as via the fan. It is a device that needs to be kept in a ventilated location.

As for comparing a device that is actively syncing Bitcoin and one that is not… the one syncing, which is a very intensive activity, is going to run much hotter. When it’s not syncing, it’s going to run cooler.

Okay, thank you.

Also having issues connecting now

ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED

I’d need a lot more context. How/what/why are you connect through Tor to get that error and where are you getting it?

I was signed in

Got timed out
Cant get back in
It said it could be from over aggressive ad blocker or needing to clear cache. My cache is clear.

StartOS has no mechanism to log you out. Is that what you mean by “cant get back in” or do you mean your browser can’t open the IP or .local?

It is possible to get a “gateway timeout” error. Is that what you mean by “got timed out?” If so, it would seem like your server had restarted at some point during this.

“over aggressive ad blocker” normally refers to instances of the UI’s javascript getting blocked at the browser level. But considering the unusually series of events…

https://docs.start9.com/0.3.5.x/support/common-issues#i-am-unable-to-reach-my-server-via-its-custom-address-local-lan-address

Hard-refreshing is probably the best the next step.

(You say you’re working on a Server Pure… I would recommend you direct support requests to start9.me – since that level of support is included with your server purchase.)

i haven’t had any issues since initial block download.

must have just been slow and laggy and timing out from the initial block download.

now i’m having issues with LND not syncing to graph.
i didn’t have any issues with LND on my beelink.
not sure what i am doing wrong. i didn’t change anything other than my alias in LND config.

You’re probably doing nothing wrong, you probably just don’t have any channels or peers after just installing it (the bootstrapping of peers seems to fail often).

You can add a peer now (easiest way is via Ride the Lightning) without opening a channel, and it’ll immediately sync. What peer? It could be the one you eventually plan on opening to after to load onchain funds into LND, it could be the Start9 node from the Lightning docs, or it could be a random one from 1ml or Amboss.

Its working now.

It took about 2 hours to sync to graph.

Had to lower my time preference is all.

Thank you :call_me_hand::orange_heart::muscle:

All good, ever since initial block download, i havent had any issues.

All the issues were during initial block download
